About Us
Designs by Queen B was created and started by Event stylist, artist, designer, and creative director, Bernice "Berdy" Solorio. It is the first woman owned business in her family. Being the oldest of 4 and first generation Mexican-American has made her into who she is today. Her ambition and ability to multi-task has allowed her to test her limits when it comes to creativity and coming up with the perfect event designs for her clients. She has always been artistic and has been thinking outside of the box since the age of four. Her creativity, family-motivated determination, and her attention to detail make her business successful and creates beautiful works of art for all of her clients. She loves when a client comes to her with a new idea because her imagination just runs at 100% and is able to come up with several designs to fit the client's budget. She will go above and beyond for each and every client and make sure the event goes just as planned. Seeing her client’s reaction when they take that first bite of her dessert or take that first look at her setup just fuels her to continue on her journey. Designs by Queen B started out just selling desserts for any occasion as she loves to bake and test out new recipes and it has continued to grow from there. Just like Berdy, our team will give 110% for any set up no matter how small or big the event is.
Meet Our Team
Maria is Berdy's assistant and godmother. She is the one that introduced her to this industry. She has many years of experience. Her training and expertise in old school decor has driven her to pursue the modern and luxurious part of of this industry. She brings that extra touch of creativity and attention to detail. Maria is a stay at home mom of 3 wonderful boys and in her spare time she likes to create things such as a breakfast in a box, ribbon flowers, and more.
Allan is our muscle. He is Berdy's brother and always comes along whenever there is heavy lifting involved. Berdy asked if he would help her in the beginning of her business and he agreed. He has remained with Designs by Queen B ever since. If he sees a client in a pinch, he will make sure to help out wherever he can to make their day easier. Allan also likes to bond with our clients' dogs and makes them feel at ease. Allan likes to play video games in his spare time and watch anime series or movies.
Marcelino is Berdy's father and the one behind the wood backdrops. If she needs a new wood backdrop, Marcelino will make sure to create it and ensure it is safe. He is the one that has been supporting her since the beginning and pushes his daughter to make her dreams come true. Although he works a full time job, he always puts his family's needs before his. In his spare time, he likes to visit different taco spots and watch action movies.
